This is a Windows screensaver that shows Conway's game of Life being played on the surface of a torus, rendered in 3D. Options include the dimensions of the torus, the size of the Life grid to wrap around the torus, the colors to use when rendering cells as seen from the front and back, the number of Life generations to run per second, and the rate at which the torus rotates.

Just download the file into a convenient directory. It is somewhat traditional to put it in the Windows directory, which is something like:

Windows 95: C:\Windows
Windows 98: C:\Windows\System or C:\Windows
Windows XP: C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32
Windows 2000: C:\WINNT\System32

Once the file is downloaded, open the directory it's in, right-click the file, and choose Install.

Many thanks are due to Rachel for writing this paper on OpenGL screensaver programming.
